Boy, does this take me back, American Bandstand, in the fifties and sixties, Dick Clark got us all off our chairs tapping and moving our bodies..young & old, did not matter, we all enjoyed the music and dancing around our living rooms. Being very young in the Sixties, it was a learning experience for me. I tried to keep up with the latest steps, and if I could catch my Mom in a good mood, I had a partner.
I truly think shows like AB and Soul Train, were the start of my dream of one day being a Dancer or a Singer..as a young girl, I remember standing in-front of my mirror and using my hair brush or my tooth brush as a microphone, and singing my heart out. Had some good moves then too!
Well, I did not succeed in either as a living, but do enjoy good music and dancing. Thanks Dick for bringing all that and ringing in the New Year with us in our living rooms, in such a grand style.
RIP
